Dental X-Ray Units from Orthdent

An X-ray unit is what lets a clinician see what is under the surface - caries, bone level, root anatomy and the position of unerupted teeth. The two things that decide how useful a unit is in daily practice are how it generates the beam and how easily it can be moved to where the patient is.

  • Generation. High-frequency units produce a more consistent beam than older mains-frequency designs, which means the exposure you set is the exposure you get.
  • Portable or wall-mounted. A portable, battery-powered unit can be carried between rooms or taken to a patient who cannot be moved; a fixed unit is faster once it is in place.
  • Film or digital sensor. The unit itself is the beam source - what you pair it with decides the workflow. Digital sensors and phosphor plates cut the time between exposure and image on screen.
  • Dose. Lower-dose settings and collimated beams reduce patient exposure, which matters most where an image is taken repeatedly.
  • Power and plug type. Confirm the voltage and plug of the unit against your mains supply before ordering.

Orthdent supplies dental X-ray units to clinics, practices and distributors. Browse the listing above for the units currently in stock, and contact us if you need a specification that is not shown.
