A handpiece is a precision instrument running at very high speed, and it fails for predictable reasons: worn bearings, a damaged turbine, a leaking seal or a bent shaft. Keeping the right tools on site turns a replacement into a repair.

Bearing and cartridge tools. Removing a turbine cartridge without damaging the housing needs the correct press or extraction tool for that handpiece family - improvisation usually costs you the shell as well as the turbine.
Matching the handpiece. Kits are made for specific handpiece types (high speed turbine, low speed, particular brand families). Confirm the type before ordering.
Spares that matter. Bearings, O-rings, seals, gaskets and the rear drive shaft are the parts that wear first - keeping them in stock is what keeps chairs running.
Prevention. Correct lubrication and correct sterilisation temperature do more for handpiece life than any repair. Overheating in the autoclave is a common cause of premature failure.
