Orthdent Sectional Contoured Metal Matrix Bands

Pre-contoured metal matrix bands for posterior Class II composite restorations. Each band is shaped to follow the proximal contour instead of being bent into place, so the band sits flat against the preparation, the contact stays tight and the gingival margin closes without a gap. The bands are supplied as refills in colour coded boxes, 50 pieces per box, with a 100 piece mixed kit covering all four sizes.

The colour band on each box matches the size, which matters when several boxes sit on the same tray. The 100 piece mixed kit keeps 3.5 mm, 4.5 mm, 5.5 mm and 6.5 mm in one box, 25 pieces each.

How to Use

1. Select the size for the tooth, 4.5 mm premolar, 5.5 mm molar, 6.5 mm molar with extensions.
2. Seat the band with sectional forceps using the tab, then place a wedge to hold the cervical edge.
3. Apply the sectional matrix ring so both tips sit in the embrasures and press the contoured surface against the preparation.
4. Etch, bond, place composite, cure, then remove the ring, wedge and band before finishing the contact.

Which matrix band size do I need?
