Orthdent 5 m NiTi Round Archwire

A straight nickel-titanium archwire supplied as a 5 metre coil in a sealed single pack. The wire is round section and super elastic, so it delivers a light, continuous force across a wide activation range instead of dropping off after the first few days. You cut the length you need from the coil for each arch.

Each size is one pack of 5 metres. If you work through the arch progression, order the four sizes together.

Why NiTi Super Elastic

• Wide working range — the wire keeps releasing a near-constant force even after large deflection, so you get fewer emergency visits for re-ties.
• Low stiffness — much gentler than stainless steel of the same diameter, which keeps the initial alignment comfortable.
• Shape recovery — the wire returns to its coiled form after unloading, so unused lengths stay usable.
• Smooth surface treatment — reduces friction against the bracket slot and lets the wire slide more freely during space closure.

How to Use

1. Uncoil the length you need and cut it with wire cutters, allowing for the arch form and tie-back.
2. Place the wire into the bracket slots and secure it with ligatures or self-ligating clips.
3. Keep the remaining coil dry and away from sharp bends; do not re-straighten a kinked section.
4. Sterilise the cut length before use if your protocol requires it.

Is the 5 metres one continuous piece?

Is this wire round or rectangular?

Round. It is intended for the alignment and levelling stages, before you move to rectangular wire for torque control.

Which size should I start with?

Most cases start at 012 or 014 for initial alignment, then progress through 016 and 018. Choose by the force level you want at that visit.

Is 012 the same as 0.012 inch?

Yes. 012 and 0.012 inch are the same size written two ways, and the same applies to 014, 016 and 018. Order whichever label your prescription uses.

Can the pack be autoclaved?

The pack is marked as autoclavable. Follow your clinic protocol and check the bag seal before sterilising.

Does the wire come pre-formed to an arch?

No. It is a straight coil. You form the arch yourself when you place it.
